Deconstructing Logos: The Art of Identity Makeovers

In a redesign we are always faced with the challenge of maintaining brand recognition, while giving it an updated, contemporary look. This becomes particularly tricky when we work on logos and identities that are not very well constructed. Some logo ‘lock-ups’ have integrated type that make it impossible to reduce them to a small size, while others are over designed and too complicated. It can be difficult to integrate them into a well-composed contemporary design.
 
When we start the redesign process, we break an identity down to its essential elements and reconstruct them in a way that allows flexibility in size and composition.
