CPO Completes Rehab CPO Summer Event

CPO Completes Rehab

When Ohio Capital Corporation for Housing first acquired this portfolio of 1335 residential apartments back in April 2003, we became the largest slumlord overnight. Within weeks we had over 70 buildings with severe roof leaks, ceilings caving in, and sub flooring rotting through. It was a stretch to call it decent, safe, or sanitary housing.

The development and construction team that worked on this project for over 8 years has done so as a commitment to the entire community of Columbus, but more importantly the residents. Moody Nolan, Inc, The Albert M. Higley Co/Baker Henning Productions, Joint Venture have put heart and soul into this initiative. Even our sub-contractors have become part of the CPO Family – making significant contributions to our resident services over the years.

The completion of the rehab is a significant step towards the transformation of the housing in the communities where we are located and the lives of the residents we serve. The rehabilitation of the real estate has addressed structural, mechanical and quality of products, and also amenities such as washer/dryer hookup, adding of air conditioning, and modern lighting and finishes. The CPO Initiative has been a wonderful example of a community effort to preserve valuable affordable housing within its inner city neighborhoods responsible.
